Stillwater Dog Training is very proud of its staff of trainers and instructors.  Each instructor and assistant instructor has trained and apprenticed with Mary Peter (owner and certified master dog trainer) for a minimum of one year.  Every one of the Stillwater Team is active in training their own dogs to a demonstration level in basic and advanced   obedience both on and off leash, as well as rally obedience and beginning agility.   They are also active in the show ring in obedience and rally obedience competition.

     Our goal is to give you quality training in a fun setting.  Each staff member is a professional both in their attitude and ability and were sure you will enjoy learning from all of them.

     Each class has an instructor as well as one or more assistant instructors who are there to help you work through any problems you may be having during class.

Mary Peter  Owner and President

...is a Certified Master Dog Trainer with credentials in the fields of basic and advanced obedience, personal protection, police K9, attack, tracking, retrieval, utility, and disability training.  She also specializes in behavior modification for the problem dog.  Mary has been training dogs professionally since 1987 and has earned the respect of both the public and veterinary community.

• Founder and K9 instructor for the K9 Forensics Recovery Team, Inc., a search dog team, whose services have been requested by the FBI, FDLE, local and long distance law enforcement agencies and the Truth Commission in the country of Panama.  www.k9forensicsteam.com
• Member in good standing with the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association by recommendation of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office  
• Worked with Hernando County in the development of service dog licensing and evaluation
• Participating Mentoring Trainer - Animal Behavior College, Inc.
• Has trained her K9, Ruger, to attain the titles of CGC, CD, TDI, TT, and HRD.
• Certified Master Trainer, graduate of National K9, Columbus, Ohio
• Mary and her K9, Ruger, are certified through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association as a Human Remains Detector Dog Team.
• They also were part of the first K9 team sent to Aruba to search for missing Alabama student, Natalee Holloway
• Mary & Ruger also worked together in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina on a human remains recovery mission.

Heather Jensen  Certified Trainer / Instructor

     Heather has been training dogs for 17 years and has extensive experience as an obedience instructor and trainer.  She has instructed hundreds of dogs through obedience classes as well as training many of her personal dogs to achieve advanced levels of obedience.  Heather teaches private obedience lessons and assists in behavior modification training.  You will enjoy learning from Heather as she teaches you and your dog how to work together.  She is currently showing her Welsh Corgi in the obedience show ring.  Heather is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and also the Office Manager for Stillwater Dog Training.

MaryBeth Lindstad  Certified Instructor

     MaryBeth comes to us from a teaching background and is an excellent instructor.  She has trained several of her personal dogs to advanced obedience levels and has worked at Stillwater for over two years.  She has a great desire to help clients achieve the best with their dogs.  MaryBeth is currently showing her Standard Poodle in the rally obedience show ring.

     Bobby and Jeanie have been training at Stillwater for almost two years and make an excellent instructor team.  They have trained their Chocolate Lab to advanced obedience levels and have assisted clients in reaching the same goals with their personal dogs.  They are both excellent at giving that “extra” help to clients who are having difficulties with their dogs.  They are getting ready for the rally obedience show ring with their Lab.

     Kathy has been training at Stillwater for over two years.  She has trained her Miniature Australian Shepherds to advanced obedience levels.  Kathy’s help has been essential for those clients needing one-on-one help during classes.    Kathy works back and forth in any classes that need her assistance and has been a great help to both our clients and staff.

     On Sunday October 31st, 2004, Patty, very regrettably, passed away.  All of us at Stillwater are extremely saddened by the loss of our beloved friend, but are comforted in the knowledge that she is now in the hands of Jesus, our savior.  We honor her memory, life, and all that she achieved through our prayers, and this, a place of honor on our web site.
