"Mary, I want to thank you for the best gift anyone could give me and that is being able to keep my dog. Inside my 4 lb. Yorkie there was a 90 lb. monster. She would bite someone's leg with lightning speed. She had bitten most of my friends and grandkids and I was going to have give her up. Now, after training with you, she no longer bites and is a much happier dog because I am her master and not the other way around. Thank you again." Diana, Brooksville. A year ago Haley was at her worst. We tried homeopathy and prescription drugs. She was still a basket case. The veterinary clinic where I work recommends Stillwater Dog Training for behavioral and training problems. I was frazzled and stressed when I decided to ask Mary for help. We put Haley through basic and advanced obedience classes. We worked hard for her to accept other dogs and people and she graduated first in her class! When we started basic obedience, Haley was very shy and at times, unpredictable in public and at home. When we started advanced classes she had broken out of her shell and was a social butterfly. Thank you Mary. Because of your hard work and care, Haley is just now enjoying her "puppyhood". She is happier, social, more confident. Shes being a dog a happy dog. Thank you so much." "Mary, your unbridled passion and love for man's best friend, coupled with your burning desire to offer the best canine training anywhere has provided the community with one of the best trainer's in the world. I have had the opportunity to observe and experience many different approaches to canine training throughout the world and none surpass your unique ability. "A Stillwater trained dog" is the answer I give to people that constantly ask, "How did you train your dogs, they are so well behaved and sociable?" Mary, you have bettered the world of man and dog! Thanks for being you." M. Cody, President, Nature Coast of Florida Dog Association. Raeuber & Montana ___________________________________________________________________________________________ "Thanks to the training my companion (a boxer/mix breed) and I received at Stillwater, I can take him anywhere with the confidence of knowing he will walk quietly beside me, not him taking me for a walk! Thank you again for being there!" Marcie, Spring Hill Doc __________________________________________________________________________________________ "Princess, our Weimaraner, was our first rescue. She was very hyper and uncontrollable in public. We could never take her out any where. She wouldn't behave in the car or on a leash. The one time we stopped at a fast food drive thru she tried to jump through the window. Obedience classes were just what we needed. She learned to heel and how to sit and stay among many other dogs and people. Just having her out to the class with other people and dogs made her easier to take out. It made it so much easier to take her to the vet. We can now take Princess in the car and wherever we go she is well behaved. The training not only made things much nicer for us, but also made her life much richer. Thank you Mary and Heather." S. Ouellette & family, Weeki Wachee. Princess ________________________________________________________________ "I have attended dog training classes in the past, am new to the area and had never trained a toy breed. After purchasing this puppy, I began to look at trainers. I wanted to attend training to have a dog that would be a family member as well as begin to prepare us to show in obedience and agility. We attended the basic and advance classes at Stillwater. Their classes are informative, fast and fun. Mary's expertise taught us the basics, but also some new ideas and ways of training. Mary has vast knowledge and expertise in dogs. We will continue to train at Stillwater Dog Training to prepare for showing. I now have a dog that is a well mannered member of the family and as a bonus, we have made some new friends. Thank you Mary!" R. Stille, Spring Hill. She still has her fun-loving spirit, but now she has acquired manners and control. She bonded with me more than before because we had fun learning together. I could go on and on praising Stillwater Dog Training, but I'll just say, if you want control, fun and closeness with your dog, Stillwater is the school for you. It's serious training that lets you have fun while you learn." Carol, Spring Hill Muxzie
"Nalla came to me by my brother. He rescued her in North Carolina and then received orders for Iraq. She had been horribly abused and neglected and she was 15 months old. She had never even been on a leash. I went to Mary for help for a private lesson and evaluation. Mary saw she had no self esteem and had a lot of anxiety, but was a sweet dog. Mary recommended group classes. I was skeptical at first because Nalla was so uncontrollable. Thank God we went to group. Nalla has confidence now and has developed social skills. She is a Pit Bull. Now people look at her with awe to see a pit pull so well behaved. They are not afraid. I have always been an ambassador for the breed, but did not know if I could keep Nalla for my brother with her behavior. Thank you Mary, for helping us. Nalla is so happy now and so am I." "Lizzie is a 2 1/2 year old Kerry Blue Terier with a very dominant and aggressive personality. I adopted her when she was 2. Lizzie had never been walked on a leash, had not been socialized with other dogs. She was very dog aggressive and would lunge and bark uncontrollably whenever she was near another dog. She was also overly friendly to people, jumping on them and demanding attention. Three weeks after I adopted Lizzie, we started training with Mary at Stillwater Dog Training. Mary suggested a "gentle leader" collar for Lizzie which gave me much more control than a normal collar and eliminated the strangulating effects of a choke collar. Thanks to our training at Stillwater, Lizzie has learned all her basic obedience commands and her behavior is much more controlled. Even better than that, I gained the confidence to take Lizzie with me anywhere I go. The training was fun for both of us. Mary's simple, positive techniques for gentle voice and hand commands made the training easy to learn and easy to implement on a daily basis. Thanks Mary!" Lizzie
"After adopting Buddy, he grew to more than 20 lbs larger than we expected. I was unable to walk him due to his strength. Thanks to your professionalism in training us and our dog, I was able to take Buddy for a walk anywhere after the first class. If it was not for your obedience class, we would not have been able to keep Buddy". N. Matte, Brooksville Buddy
"Mary,
Bradshaw was just 12 weeks old when we first brought him to your Basic training class. We can still remember him tugging at us when we first introduced him to the collar and leash, he would rear back and dig in like a mule. We were so worried that he would not pass your class on the 7th week. He barely did, but in just a few months your training in the Advanced class amazed us when Bradshaw stayed in a sit with many other dogs while we all disappeared behind the building. Your training basics work as long as practice and care are mixed in. Bradshaw has since titled in Conformation, Obedience, and Agility. Everything we do together relies on and is rooted in the basics we first learned at your school. Thanks to you and your staff!" Tom & Diane Hitchens, Spring Hill Bradshaw "Mary,
My Basset mix, Houston, came to us as a shy and timid puppy. I worked with him through the Basic and Advanced classes and I was very ecstatic with the results that we got. But I never imagined how much Houston would get out of the Advanced II. Over the weeks I watched my shy and timid little guy become much more confident and it was nott just on the training field! He used to shy away from strangers or hide behind me if we went on walks, but not any more. I truly believe that this course was the best thing for him AND it was so much FUN!! I had no idea how different this class would be and I can't believe that we almost stopped at the Advanced I. Thank you again for all of your help and I will be seeing you soon with our next puppy." Mary Beth Linstad and Houston" Hewie
"Dear Mary, Thanks to you, our two dogs are both well behaved and they both have passed their pet therapy testing and are Hospice volunteers. I can't wait for K.D. (Cattle Dog) to enjoy the agility course once again. She loves it and it is so much fun. Our Catahoula Leopard has come so far due to your training classes and expert knowledge. He is now going back to the community thanks to your help. Sincerely, Kathy & Chet and the Cornwell Cuties" Murphy and K.D.
"Thank you Mary for showing us how to sucessfully make our dogs a real part of our family. As I write this I recall how many books I have read on our chosen breed- the Akita. There have been no breed authorities that will admit that you can peacefully keep more than one dog and one bitch of the Akita breed together- maybe-. We have proven these authoroties wrong with the obedience training knowledge we have received from Stillwater Dog Training. We have kept 4 Akitas- two dogs and two bitches- along with up to 2 other mixed breeds at one time together IN our home for the past seven years that we have known, learned from, respected and befriended you . No doubt all our dogs are still Akita- dominant, alpha or "ichiban" (Japanese for number one dog) just as their breed is supposed to be, but with the gentle guidance we learned from Mary they have willingly accepted thier places in the hierarchy of our family and look to us humans as "ichiban". Without this valuable knowlege learned from Stillwater Dog Training we might not have been able to maintain the tranquil home we are now blessed with and will hope to continue in these footsteps over the years as more Akitas come into our family. Again -Thank you Mary and God Bless all you have done for people and their dogs here and all over our country." Brenda Green Nikki, Buck, Sugar, Ben and Kayla
"I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful experience of your Basic Obedience class. I've attached a picture of a situation that could not have been possible before taking Oliver to school (he used to chase the pig & we had to keep him in a muzzle at all times). He has become a much more enjoyable and safe companion since starting obedience classes. We look forward to the Advanced class beginning next month! Jacque, David & Oliver Oliver & "the Pig"
'Mary, Stillwater Dog training has been nothing short of a miracle for my dogs. Before the training, both of my dogs were very defiant, destroyed items of mine, and I had difficulty housebreaking them. After basic training, I have seen a dramatic improvement in both dogs and I can now have them around other dogs and they are more social. They listen to commands without hesitation and hence are wonderful companions. I can't thank you enough for the blessing you have been in my life. Through your guidance and support, I am more confident with my dogs." Marla (Brooksville, FL) Trigger & Scooter
"Mary, We want to thank you for your outstanding professional training in Basic Obedience Class. Our little 5 month old Westie, Lady Mackenzie, has received compliments from neighbors for her improved behavior as we go for our daily walks! She no longer chases every leaf, car, and dog that passes by. She walks like a little lady at our side and enjoys it ! We are so pleased with her progress in such a short time! Your example of kind, calm, and positive, yet firm interaction with your dogs has been a wonderful inspiration for us in working with Kenzie. Your techniques in basic training were simple to practice and your positive encouragement to us has been motivational. We look forward to attending advanced training with you in the near future. Thank you so much for your sincere interest in each of your "students". God Bless, Larry, Barbara, and Kenzie" Spring Hill Lady Mackenzie |
